Pinewood Lake is an established community of 542 Federal Period townhomes in Fairfax County, just south of the city of Alexandria, in Virginia and surrounded by over 1,400 acres of wooded park land (Huntley Meadows Park and Muddy Hole Park).  Developed on 92 acres of wooded land near Mount Vernon, it is part of the original Muddy Hole Farms of the George Washington estates.

-At its meeting on January 12, the Board voted to rescind Policy Resolution 2010-01, Related to the Procedure for Appointment of Interim Board Members in the Event of a Vacancy or Resignation.  The Board will instead follow the ByLaws, Article V, Section 3 as written.

-The Board passed two revised policy resolutions on July 14.  Please click here to view Policy Resolution 2011-05, Collection Procedures.  Please click here to view Policy Resolution 2011-06, Architectural Control Committee Due Process Procedures.

-The Board adopted a new Driveway Resolution and a new Pool Rules Resolution at its June 9, 2011 meeting.

-At its March 10, 2011, meeting, the Board of Directors passed a new version of our Policy Resolution on Streets and Service Roads to make the definition of a commercial vehicle more clear.  Please click here to see the new resolution.  The Board also passed new Pool Rules.  Please click here to see the new resolution.

-On February 10, 2011, the Board approved a new Walkway Standard. Please click here to view the new standard.

-At its meeting on July 8, 2010, the Board approved the following Benjamin Moore colors as options for Recessed Planes: Garrison Red, Philipsburg Blue, Stonington Gray, Yorktowne Green, Black Forest Green, Silver Pine, Hodley Red (for homes with painted brick façades only), and New London Burgundy (for homes with painted brick façades only).  The following vinyl shutter colors are also recessed plane options for those with vinyl shutters matching these colors: Black, Midnite Green, Forest Green, Burgundy Red, Wedgewood Blue, and Light Gray.

-At its meeting on May 13, 2010, the Board approved natural as a rear fence color option.  All natural rear fences must be sealed with Olympic Maximum Waterproofing Sealant with Honey Gold toner.  Benjamin Moore Louisburg Green is still the paint option for rear fences.

-Thank you to all of the homeowners who expressed an opinion on the proposed changes to the fence standards.  At its October 8, 2009, meeting, the Board voted to reject the proposed changes and maintain the ACC standards as they are currently written.  This means that vertical style front fences are still not approved.

-At the Board meeting on August 14, 2008, the Board approved a change to the Window Standard to allow for different configurations for the front bay windows and rear picture window.  Click here for details.

-Our towing policy went into effect on March 1, 2007.  Click here to read the resolution or here to read a brief pamphlet on the towing policy.  Make sure you are parking in accordance with our policy to avoid being towed.

-Special pickups consisting of mattresses, couches, and appliances may be placed at the curb on Mondays or Thursdays without a phone call.  Collection of any other special pickup items must be scheduled ahead of time by calling 703-360-6634.
